On May 21, 2025, the Taiwan Sustainable Agriculture Forum and Awards Ceremony was held at the National Taiwan University Hospital International Convention Center. Mr. Hung Yau-Kuen, Chairman of Fwusow Industry Co., Ltd., was honored with the 2025 Sustainable Agriculture Award – Outstanding Individual, presented by the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE). This recognition highlights Fwusow’s strong commitment to sustainable management and its significant contributions to the agriculture and related industries.
In response to global challenges such as climate change, food security, and resource constraints, agriculture has become a critical sector in addressing environmental issues. Guided by the core principles of the agri-food circular economy and energy conservation and carbon reduction, Fwusow has established a business model that balances environmental protection, social responsibility, and economic performance.
With regard to the agri-food circular economy, Fwusow has moved beyond the traditional “linear economy” mindset by integrating circular economy principles into its operations. Through the interconnected utilization of edible oils and fats, animal feed, pet food, livestock and poultry products, and organic fertilizers, the Company has developed a comprehensive circular system. By-products from the production process, such as oilseed residues and agricultural by-products, are converted into organic fertilizers for agricultural use. This approach not only reduces waste but also enhances soil fertility and nutrient retention. In addition, Fwusow works closely with farmers to promote environmentally friendly farming practices, provide professional technical support, and foster a sustainable and inclusive partnership model.
Sustainable development requires the collective engagement of multiple stakeholders. Fwusow Industry actively collaborates with farmers, farmers’ associations, research institutions, and government agencies to advance the transition toward sustainable agriculture. The Company also participates in forums, agricultural extension programs, and food and agriculture education initiatives to promote the values of the circular economy and sustainable agriculture.
