Food Safety Verification

Self-verification
In 2024, we underwent a total of 30 audits, including 11 audits by health authorities, 7 internal verification system audits, and 12 client audits. Corresponding to the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), there are 7 audits of SQF deficiencies, 3 audits of FSSC 22000 secondary deficiencies. Any identified deficiencies were promptly addressed through root cause analysis and preventive measures, ensuring compliance with all requirements.

External Audits
The Taichung City Office of Food and Drug Safety conducted 10 on-site inspections in coordination with the management of glycidyl fatty acid esters in oils and fats. These inspections included traceability checks across different batch numbers.
From the process, including procurement, customs clearance, warehousing, production and sales, we provided comprehensive data covering every stage to the Food Safety Office in reporting to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Ministry of Health and Welfare as part of the national food safety management framework.
In addition to external audits, we actively conduct internal certification. In the certification of SQF, FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, HACCP and TQF, we have checked all products by random sampling across all product categories and carry out traceability checks.

2024 Important External Audits: Irregularities and Improvements
  1. During the audit process, it has found that allergetic ingridients were not properly segregated, mainly due to an imbalance of production volume and procurment quantity, resulting in insufficient storage space. Employees failed to store allergetic ingridients in designated spaces. In response, we started education trainings to raising employee’s awareness on importance of allergetic ingridients and to ensure proper handling and storage of raw materials.
  2. The combo car in the waste stortage area have not been covered and left garbages around. Upon intivestigation, it was found that employee failed to follow the regulation about hygiene management procedures for disposing the waste. The collection vehicle had reached full capacity, but waste continued to be deposited , making it impossible to close the lid and resulting in garbage being carelessly discarded on the surrounding. In response to this situation, we promote the working process in the morning meetings, monitor by security cameras everyday to ensure that waste handling complies with established standards.
  3. Even the chemicals should be managed designated storage cabinets, but it has found that food additictives-defoaming agent mistakely stored in the laboratory’s medicine cabinet. This indicates a lack of understanding among employees regarding the proper storage requirements for defoaming agent. We disseminated about the correct stortage procedures and required employees to sign off in acknowledgment to reinforce their awareness of chemical management practices.
  4. An X-ray result from a medical examination of a foreign employee indicated a need for further hospital evaluation. Although the employee worked in the outer packaging area, follow-up on the examination results was not conducted promptly. We arranged for detail health check, and the physician confirmed that the finding was not related to tuberculosis. It was recorded in the electronic health examination classification file by our factory affairs. For significant abnormalities, the hospital will also proactively contact the employee for confirmation.
