We understand the climate changes increasingly affect the environmental sustainability as part of our social responsibility and mission to achieve "Green Business Development", we adopted ISO14064-1 at Shalu, Taichung Harbor, Lukang and Kaohsiung plants to quantify the greenhouse gas inventory.


Green Energy
In 2024, our achievements in green energy generation were notable, with solar energy production totaling 4,068.55 MWh, compared to 4,181.34 MWh in 2023―a decrease of 112.79 MWh, 2.7 %. It is due to the reduction in sunlight and climate factors.


 
Energy Use

We have set specific annual reduction targets for 2025: to reduce electricity consumption by over 1% (approximately 257.2 kWh), and to decrease greenhouse gas emissions by over 127.1 metric tons of CO2e.

Natural gas is mainly used for boilers and drying processes. In 2024, the total natural gas consumption across our 4 plants was 3,398.4 km³.

As for diesel fuel, it is primarily used for transportation trucks and forklifts. In 2024, our total diesel fuel consumption was 354.09 kL, which decreased 21.41kL, by 5.7% decrease compared to 375.49 kL in 2023.
 
Water Consumption
  • In 2024, steam condensate recovery reached 12,739 tons, marking a 22.78% decrease from 16,946 tons of 2023, but resulting in a reduction of 1.987 tons of carbon emissions.
  • Process cooling water reuse amounted to 7,845 tons in 2024, increased 3,179 tons from 4,666 tons of 2023, showing a significant 68.13% increase, and reducing carbon emissions by 1.223 tons.
